Scratch Club: Would you like to publish animated stories? Create interactive art or design computer games? Then you might be interested in the Clarke Scratch Club. Scratch is a programming language that lets you create your own programs with graphics, music, sounds and voice. The club will meet on Tuesdays from 2:50-4:30 p.m. 6th grade club will begin on Oct 4th, and on Oct 18th for 7th and 8th grade. Sign-up is outside the Main Office. Space is limited.

Ski Trip: 7th and 8th graders, it's that time of year to get into the Ski Trip Lottery to Sunday River.  Turn in the permission slip, check, and medical form by next Friday at 8AM - one more week.

SGA: There will be a meeting during WIN Block on Friday in the cafeteria for all homeroom representatives. Also, all executive branch speeches are due this Friday September 30th. You can drop them off in the SGA bin in the Main Office.

Walk and Roll: Next Wednesday, October 5th is the day to Walk and Roll! Schools in Lexington and all over the world are celebrating the environmental and health benefits of walking and biking to school. Join fellow walkers and bikers for a gathering next Wednesday morning near the bike racks starting at 7:20 a.m. There will be music, a raffle and photos with the school mascot Joans Bark. Don't miss the fun!

Community Service Event: Listen up everyone! It's time for the Wright-Loke Farm community service event. Grab a friend and spend a Wednesday afternoon working outdoors at a sustainable farm; help others, learn something new, and enjoy a family farm and their animals. If you are interested, please sign-up outside Ms. Kascak's room, RM 337.  

Q1 Progress Reports will go live in the Apsen portal on Tuesday at 4PM.  Make sure you have your Aspen portal login information ready to go.  

Picture Day is next Thursday - October 6th.  Order forms are being distributed today during homeroom - please take this form home to your parent or guardian.  Pictures will take place outside on the athletic fields, so dress accordinly - it could be cold.   You can order the picture packages online at coffeepond.com or fill out the paper form.  Please bring a printed online receipt or your order form with you next Thursday.

Clarke Literature Magazine will hold their first meeting today from 3 - 3:50pm in room 372. We are looking for creative minds and editors to help put together a monthly magazine filled with student art work, stories, poems and articles.  

Ski Trip: 7th and 8th graders, it's that time of year to get into the Ski Trip Lottery to Sunday River.  Turn in the permission slip, check, and medical form by 8AM tomorrow.

Clarke Literature Magazine: Calling all writers and artists!  Come join us for the first meeting of the Clarke Literature Magazine.  We are looking for creative minds and editors to help put together a monthly magazine filled with student art work, stories, poems and articles.  First meeting will be from 3 - 3:50 on Thursday - September 29th.  If you cannot make the meeting, feel free to contact Ms. Aldrich in 372.  

Middle C's: The first Middle C's rehearsal will be tomorrow - Wednesday, September 28th.  Be sure to turn in your Middle C's contract to Mr. Coombs before the first rehearsal if you would like to participate.

Drama: The first audition workshop will meet today from 3:00-4:00 in Room 104. This workshop will teach students how to audition for the Wizard of Oz.

X-C:

Mathcounts: The first Mathcounts tryout will be afterschool today in the cafeteria from 3-4:30. All students are welcome. Please bring a calculator and see Mr Frost with any questions.

X-C: There is NO cross country practice today. Runners should run on their own. The first home meet is tomorrow so runners should wear their cross country team shirts to school.

Back to School Picnic: The Clarke PTO would like to invite the entire Clarke community to our first ever “Back To School Picnic” this Sunday, September 25th from 4-7 in the afternoon. Pack some food, grab a blanket, and bring your whole family to Hastings Park. It will be a fun afternoon with a DJ and lots of friends.  If your parents want to leave the cooking to someone else, a chicken truck and Mo's ice cream truck will be there.  More information can be found on the Clarke PTO website. We hope you can come on Sunday to the Clarke School Picnic!
