Physical Education, Health, and Athletics

This elective meets twice each week for one semester. Multimedia Health Education Messages, an elective for 8th graders, provides special instruction to students in the use of computer software that creates multimedia messages and programs. As students master the software, they then develop health education messages directed to other middle school students. This involves selecting a health education topic, researching it, determining a focus for the message, and then creating the message. Examples of messages might include: a game, a quiz, a commercial or an informational presentation. Students will present their health education messages to selected groups of students at the end of the course.
