Lexington Middle School Physical Education Goals
The goal of the Lexington Middle School Physical Education Program is to develop a physically educated person. The following goals and outcome statements are intended to serve as standards for a quality Physical Education Program, grades six through eight.
This curriculum meets, and in many areas exceeds, the standards for physical education established in the Massachusetts Department of Education curriculum frameworks.
These program goals support the efforts of the Eastern District Association of the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance(EDA-AAHPERD) and are based on the assumption of a five day per week physical education program. The content of the goals also assumes that the outcomes and related behavioral objectives for Physical Education K-5 have been achieved.
